Two stations of São João da Boa Vista (SP) are part of the list of inspection. The cities of Araraquara, Matão, Porto Ferreira and Rio Claro (SP) each have a research post. The names of the establishments were not disclosed.
In all, 90 agents in 49 cities will be visited by 180 agents. According to the Treasury Department, the indications indicate a possible simulation of the operations involving the marketing of diesel, which would have caused damage of about 200 million reais to the state coffers over four years.
The institutions are suspected of issuing tax documents that do not correspond to actual transactions, simulating the sale of diesel fuel. Subsequently, these documents are eventually used by recipients, mainly carriers, to reduce the tax on the movement of goods and services (ICMS) due in their operations.
Of the 90 fuel outlets inspected, 31 will see their state registration immediately suspended due to the large difference found between the volume of diesel sold and actually purchased. According to the Treasury Department, there are stations that do not even have a diesel fuel storage tank.
If the fraud is confirmed, the stations will undergo a cbadation procedure that may permanently prevent its operation. The Treasury Department will also carry out the second phase of the operation in order to recover the defrauded amounts, in which all recipients who have used unduly generated credits will be activated.
