He seemed to be a robot with remarkable abilities: he was able to walk, talk and dance almost like a person – in fact, it was too similar with one person.
The Boris robot, as it was called, caused a sensation at a technology event sponsored by the Russian government, the Proyektoria Technology Forum, in the city of Yaroslavl, Russia.
- How technology can help children overcome the fear of medical treatment
- Conflict of technological societies about the world's largest "off-line population"
The robot was also featured on the channels national television.
However, journalists quickly began to express doubts about their authenticity.
The Russian website TJournal has compiled a list of badly explained points about the robot. Why was there no sensor? How did scientists build it so fast, without a project known before?
Why has there been any news before regarding the construction of a robot as evolved? Why did he make so many unnecessary moves while dancing?
And finally, why was it the exact size for a person to fit in perfectly?
Fantasia
All of these questions were answered shortly after, when a photo published on social networks revealed that there was inside the robot a technology not not high-tech, but a person.
The robot was actually a fancy costume costing more than US $ 3,700 (14,400 rand).
Although the organizers of the event never explicitly said that the robot was real, the way it was presented and the coverage made by Russian television understood that it was a technology authentic.
On its website, the fantasy maker indicates that the product is capable of creating "an almost complete illusion that it is a true robot".
