Economy Minister Paulo Guedes said Wednesday in an interview with Bloomberg TV that the government was planning to raise $ 20 billion in privatizations this year.
He also said that the pension reform should help reduce the deficit to near zero this year.
Paulo Guedes is in Davos with President Jair Bolsonaro at the World Economic Forum. On Wednesday, Bolsonaro and ministers – including Paulo Guedes – canceled demonstrations in front of the press.
On Tuesday, at an in-camera luncheon organized by Itaú Unibanco, Guedes said the government wanted to simplify taxation, but impose dividends and interest on capital, according to "Valor Econômico".
Guedes would also have been adamant about pension reform, baduring investors that it would be approved, with a transitional period of capitalization. He would have repeated that, if he was not approved, he had a plan B.
