This small and very wealthy state remains marginalized by its powerful neighbors, such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, who accuse it of support radical Islamist groups and strengthen their ties with Iran.
Bahrain, another GCC member, and Egypt are also participating in the Qatar embargo.
In June 2017, these four Arab states broke off diplomatic, economic and social ties with Qatar. Recently, he announced that he would be leaving the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in January.
The GCC countries are also members of Oman and Kuwait. Neither participates in the embargo of Qatar.
