Brasília, 19 – Industrial optimism remains weak, according to the index of confidence of the industrial contractor (Icei), released Thursday 19, by the National Confederation of Industry ( CNI). On a scale where values greater than 50 points mean optimism and below this level represent pessimism, the indicator did not increase to 50.2 points in July.
Still, the result was slightly better than the one recorded last month. the Icei reached 49.6 points because of the truckers' strike. Last July, the index was 50.6 points. Even after the end of the freight sector paralysis, the confidence of industrial contractors is 3.9 points lower than the historical average of the indicator.
"The solution for the paralysis of freight transport is not yet fully built.
Among the components that make up the Icei, the index of current rates has gone from 42.4 points to 43.6 points, still on the ground pessimistic view of the chart, showing that entrepreneurs continue to see a deterioration in the business environment.
The expectations index has gone from 53.2 points to 53.5 points, but the indicator remains far from the optimism shown by entrepreneurs at the beginning of the year: the index reached 61.7 points in March. Brazil's economy did not exceed 47.0 points in July and the outlook for Brazilian firms was 56.9 points in this month
