Juiz de Fora (MG) Federal Justice authorized the extension of the second 90-day investigation into a knife attack on President Jair Bolsonaro during the campaign for the presidency of the Republic. Bolsonaro campaigned at Juiz de Fora on September 6, when he was injured in the abdomen
The investigation was extended at the request of the Federal Police (PF) and with the downline of the federal prosecution service. The investigation was opened to find out who had financed the defense of Adélio Bispo de Oliveira, the declared aggressor of Bolsonaro. The decision was made by the judge of the 3rd Federal Court, Bruno Savino. According to the investigators, the judge asked for due diligence to try to resolve the case.
Adélio Bispo de Oliveira was arrested in flagrante delicto shortly after the attack and confessed to being the perpetrator of the crime.
On October 2, the abuser was denounced by the MPF for personal badault against a political noncompliance, a crime provided for in the National Security Act.
The extension authorized by the judge of justice is valid for the second investigation relating to the case, still in phase of investigation. In the first investigation, the PF concluded that the attacker acted alone at the time of the attack and that his motivation "was undoubtedly political"
