João de Deus was arrested on Sunday (16), after going to the police. He denies all the accusations.

Camila: I call Camila. I come from Belo Horizonte, I went to Abadiânia because I had panic syndrome at the time. I was sixteen years old. 08/27/2018. I went there with faith, it was me and my family. And he [João de Deus] said that my case was serious, that I was almost dying. That he needed to take care of me in his room, that he was healing me. When he opened the door, he said, "Do you want to come with her?" My father said, "I'm going, I'm going."

Augustinho: He said, "Father, turn your back and say your prayers." He spoke to me all the time: "Father, do not open your eyes." Yes, I trusted … and I was just doing my prayers.

Camila: She told me that I was going to be healed. What should I pray for? I did it and he started to shake my hand. It went in my chest, in my bad, in my bad. And I was confused, you know, I did not understand. I have cried a lot. And he said, "Calm down, it's part of the treatment, it's part of the treatment."

Augustinho: In tears, I thought she was receiving treatment. I could never imagine that it was in the hands of a thug.

Camila: When he took my hand and asked [pausa e chora] … I saw that there was something that was wrong. was not going, why did he do it? I did not know. [Ele colocou minha mão] on his organ. I could not speak … and I could not move, I could not … I could not say anything. I do not know why. [Meu pai] I was close, very close, you know?

Augustinho: By my side and I could not do anything … It's very sad, it's very sad.

Camila: And when I arrived in Belo Horizonte … I spent all the time in the bathroom washing my hands, rubbing, rubbing, disgusted . I set fire to my dress, the pants that I wore. It was time for my mother to come and ask me why I did that. I told him everything that happened. My mother was devastated. He told my father.

Augustinho: Then I went into despair. My daughter by my side and I could not save her? It was there that I looked for a police station the next day.

Camila: And we filed a complaint against him.

Camila was one of the first women to seek justice for the means used as a means of violence in 2008. Previously, another 16-year-old girl from Minas Gerais denounced the means in 1980. She had stated being harbaded during his care at the Dom Inácio de Loyola Center. She gave up on advancing the case, but Camila went to the end.

Only five years after the denunciation, in 2013, the judge rendered his decision, which freed João de Deus from the prosecution. The file has been archived.

Camila: I went to read the sentence shortly after the news came out. And I made a mistake, you know? Ten years! He continued to do the same thing. Ten years!

Judge Rosangela Rodrigues Santos was a judge of the case. She understood then that the medium did not deceive Camila. She also alleged that her father was there to support her and could have responded. As a result, he acquitted John of God of the crime of rape by fraud.

The Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Goiás (MP-GO) appealed the decision, but the rapporteur expressed doubts as to Camila's testimony and João de Deus was acquitted again, this time for "lack of evidence".

During an interview with the medium, the Australian journalist wants to know if he's talking to John or an entity, to which he hears the answer: "With John himself".

The interview is interrupted at the beginning by the interpreter. The reporter asks about the money collected from regulars: "Is there money or miracles?"

Shortly after, the reporter speaks of the accusation of badual harbadment against John of God. The case allegedly occurred in the United States in 2010 during a visit by Jean de Dieu in a so-called "healing center" in Arizona. The victim would be a Colombian woman.
