Mayor discusses patient support service with health secretary and central regulatory team

Patients on the waiting list for surgery of the Cataract in Corumbá, sent by Corumbá City Council Through the Municipal Health Department, to Campo Grande, where they are in service as part of the joint effort of the State Government , receive all the badistance of the municipality during the pbadage through the capital of South-Mato Grosso. Totally free support includes stay, food and transportation.

This new model of patient follow-up began to be implemented in December 2017, when a new company in charge of pbadenger transport of the municipal health service for care and treatment at Campo Grande started to function. The vehicles – with a lot of comfort and quality – leave five days a week for the state capital, always in the night time. From Corumbá to Campo Grande, the departure is from Sunday to Thursday. The return of Campo Grande to Corumbá is from Monday to Friday

The municipality has concluded a contract with the Pension Dom Aquino – for the accommodation of patients – on January 5, 2018. The pension is located in Rua Dom Aquino, 272, in the Amambai district. With the same pension, a contract was signed on March 12, establishing food and transport services. The municipality maintains a vehicle that takes care of the patients, in addition to the transport contract with the pension.

The reference model implemented by Mayor Marcelo Iunes, who guarantees all the attention to Corumbá patients being treated in the state capital of Paraná, Brazil. State, is unprecedented in the city, has not been adopted by past administrations. Iunes has also created the management regulation to ensure, in addition to the exclusive attention, greater agility in the search for vacancies for medical consultations outside the home where the patient resides. The high quality of the service provided by the servers and the logistical support offered are attested by the patients themselves of the cataract and pterygium surgeries and their companions, reinforces the Municipal Secretariat of the health. For the Caravan of Health in Campo Grande, for cataract and pterygium surgeries, 202 patients – 156 of them with companions – were referred on 25 and 27 days.

June and July 1st. Even with increased demand, the Municipal Health Department has maintained routine mailings with the average daily of 42 patients referred for treatment in the capital. The caravan performs low risk surgery if it is high risk, evaluates and returns.

"We looked at the whole waiting list for cataract and pterygium surgery. We have about 250 patients on the waiting list. Maurílio Vendramini Duran

Press Release

Chácara made available to accommodate patients from Corumbá

As the demand for cataract and pterygium surgeries and surgeries was higher than that usually envisaged in patients trips for treatment outside the house, the municipality extended logistical support with stays at two other locations. "We have a contract with the board that establishes the transportation of food (lunch, dinner, snack and dinner) and overnight for our patients, who usually go to Campo Grande for special requests that we do not have in the municipality. As the demand was great, thanks to the Caravan, we mobilized our logistical support and the retreat was in charge of supporting everyone. As the pension also serves other municipalities, a farm (Chácara Quatro Poderes) and a hotel (Hotel Royal) have been made available. All our patients have been welcomed and our support team is present every day ", explains the coordinator of the regulatory center, Mariluce Leão.

The home treatment supervisor, social worker Kely Paná, explained that the service offered to patients in the hotel and farm respects the same rules of quality and comfort as those of the Pension. She added that there is no addition to the coffers of the municipality. "Everything is included in the contract with the pension, there is no addition. The same service offered in the pension is taken at the farm of the hotel, with breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and transportation. "

In the farm were 50 caravan patients for cataract surgery and pterygium, number in the accommodation capacity. The place is endowed with a leisure area, green area, common socialization area and swimming pool which give more comfort to those who are waiting for the medical consultation. The hotel and the pension itself accommodate 12 patients each. "If it is necessary, as was the case, we can use these three places. We are careful to refer patients every two days so as not to overload," added the social worker. 19659004] In Corumbá, the Central Regulation has a team of 08 people working from Monday to Friday, and a 24-hour notice for discharges and transfers.
