This afternoon, a hostel caught fire at the Matinhos center on the Paraná coast (30). The fire started around 2:30 pm and totally destroyed the site. According to the military police, the fire was completely under control around 4 pm, but it is not clear yet what motivated the event. There is no information on the wounded.
"Neighbors heard people fighting just before the fire started, probably guests who exchanged curses with each other," said Lieutenant Adilson José da Silva, who joined firefighter support team. The hostel is located between Rua da Fonte and Luísa Marques streets, and is on the ground floor.
The police did not know how many people were staying at the hostel, but as soon as the car arrived, only the owner of the establishment was there. "She was very shaken and could not yet pbad on information about what would have happened," said the lieutenant.
Although alarmed, the neighbors did not form a very large group around the fire, which required the extinction of two fire trucks.
According to the Prime Minister, there is no forecast of the motivation of the fire that needs to be clarified, and any investigation will now be conducted by the civilian police.
