A boat from a Spanish NGO rescued 59 immigrants drifting in the Mediterranean on Saturday, but the Italian Interior Minister denied access to the ports of their country.

Aquarius, another humanitarian ship chartered by a French NGO, SOS Mediterranean, was able to enter the Spanish port of Valencia on June 17 with 630 migrants on board, having been rejected by Italy and Malta the previous week
