The city of São Paulo will begin to send the IPTU (Urban and Territorial Land Tax) tickets on January 17. This year, the value of the tax will have a readjustment of 3.5% based on the reprocessing of inflation last year. The installments begin to expire on February 1, according to the Municipal Department of Finance, under the leadership of Bruno Covas (PSDB).
Those who pay the surrender value, until the expiry of the first installment, will benefit from a reduction of 3% – the same reduction as that granted João Doria, mayor of the 39 (PSDB), in 2018.
The meat begins to arrive on January 23 (see photo opposite). If they do not arrive before the deadline, the taxpayer must issue the second route via the Internet (www.prefeitura.sp.gov.br/iptu) or search for any sub-footprint that informs that the tickets are not have not arrived yet and ask for the impression of these. This deadline starts on January 24th.
If the non-receipt of the ticket is not reported to the sub-prefecture, the taxpayer will be considered as notified
The value of the IPTU can be split up to ten times . The taxpayer will only receive two tickets: one with the deadline of the first payment in February and the other with deadlines throughout the year. The change in the collection, adopted in 2018, aims to reduce ticket fraud and the profitability of their display, according to the city.

According to City Hall, in 2019, 1,077,061 citizens will be exempt from the tax. They should also receive notices of exemption.

Last year, the mayor of the time, João Doria (PSDB), had already frozen the actual increase in the IPTU.
With regard to the electoral race, the Toucan only applied the annual update of the tax on inflation, which was 3%. The Generic Values Plan (PGV), the basis of the definition of tax to be paid by taxpayers, has not been adjusted since 2013.
