Global Warming, warned at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland
Jack Ma claimed that the First World War was "produced by the first technological revolution", while that "the second technological revolution caused the Second World War". "This is the third technological revolution – we are already approaching," warned the entrepreneur quoted by CNBC.
Despite the gloomy prognosis, the CEO of Alibaba also said he trusted the potential of technology for the benefit of humankind. Jack Ma mentioned, for example, the fight against climate change, noting that new technologies could help experts use fossil fuels in a more "efficient" and "smart" way.
At the same time, and despite believing that technology is "excellent for human beings," Ma pointed out that "not being bad is not enough" for tech companies. "We should do things for the world do good things for our future and believe in youth," defended the billionaire.
This is not the first time Ma has made such warnings. In 2017, the CEO of Alibaba made similar statements, predicting that the technological developments of machine learning and artificial intelligence could lead to a new global conflict .
In the same sense, Elon Musk. Founder and CEO of Tesla, made similar remarks, saying last year that competition between governments to lead the field of AI would likely cause a World War III.
