The unemployment rate in Brazil fell to 11.6% in the quarter ended in November, according to data released Friday by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In October, unemployment was 11.7%.
This was the eighth monthly decline followed by unemployment in the country. A year ago, unemployment was 12.0%.
In terms of quotas, unemployment still stands at 12.2 million Brazilians, down 3.9% from the previous quarter and 2.9% from the same period in 2017.
Workers in the private sector without a work permit have once again made a slight improvement in the labor market framework. In November, this quota increased by 4.5% compared to the October survey and reached 11.689 million euros. Compared with the same period in 2017, growth was 4.7%.

In general, the employed labor force reached 93.189 million workers during the quarter ended in November, 1 , 2% compared to the last survey and a growth of 1.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
IBGE data still indicates that the Brazilian worker's income remains stagnant. For the quarter ended November, revenue was R $ 2,238, virtually unchanged from R $ 2,235 at the end of the October reading.
