Mining at Gongo Soco began in the 19th century
The National Mine Agency (ANM) has ordered the evacuation of an area downstream of the southern dam of the Gongo Soco mine in Barão de Cocais (MG), after being informed by Vale that the company would be ( PAEBM).

For safety reasons, the company reported an intensification of dam inspections in S. ul Superior. Equipment capable of detecting millimeter movements in the structure will also be put in place. Vale is calling on international consultants to rebadess the situation next Sunday (10/2).
On January 25, a dam erupted and struck two smaller structures of the Córrego do Feijão mine at Brumadinho, Grande Belo Horizonte. More than 300 men, including military firefighters and civilian defenders, as well as volunteers, work in the area in search of bodies.
