There is a huge celestial body, rocky and metallic, on the way to Earth. The Vesta asteroid, or Vesta 4, is over 500 kilometers in diameter and has approximately 800,000 square kilometers of area, that is nine times more than Portugal and 50 times more than the Meteor extinguishes the dinosaurs .
There are many asteroids in the solar system and most are usually found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The Vesta can be seen in the night sky without any help, near the constellation Sagittarius, until the 16th of the following month .
Colossal in size and with an imposing appearance of so large and shiny as it is, the asteroid can be observed at the naked eye, even if it is at a distance of 170 million kilometers.
Yet NASA baderts that this majestic celestial body, which earned the name of Vesta through a Roman goddess who personifies the house in Roman mythology, has no chance of making an impact with our planet.
If until July 16 look at the night sky and see a dark yellow dot know who is observing one of the largest asteroids known to mankind. Compared to other space rocks, the surface of the Vesta comes to reflect more light than the Moon itself.
According to Express, the asteroid was last visible in 2011. Now it can be seen at the naked eye. (19659005) Ceres takes first place on the podium, but Vesta is the second largest celestial body rocky orbit in the asteroid belt.
