The Lexar brand of multimedia devices – reactivated by Chinese longsys – announced this week its first SD-type memory card. And it's also a pioneer in storage: the product has 1 TB.
In 2016, SanDisk introduced to the public a prototype of a 1TB SD card that has never been sold. That's why the Lexar chip, which has already started being sold, is the first with this global storage capacity that you can actually buy.
But it depends on your purchasing power. Like any pioneer, Lexar's new 1TB SD card is expensive: $ 500 in the US, for sale in some $ 400 stores. It's still very expensive for a product of this type.
Lexar, your new card has a write speed of 70 MB / s and a reading speed of 95 MB / s. However, the product label indicates that it belongs to the V30 / U3 speed category, which only guarantees stability at 30 MB / s, as The Verge explains.
The chip is part of the line of SDHC line 633x and Lexar SDXC UHS-I cards. The brand, which was abandoned in June 2017 by former owner Micron, was bought by Chinese company Longsys in August of the same year and returned to the market in 2018.
