The United States on Monday banned the entry of former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh, accused of corruption during his 22 years of dictatorship.
His wife, Zineb Yahya Jammeh, and his sons, Mariam Jammeh and Muhammad Yahya Jammeh, were also placed on the dirty US list of foreign agents involved in large-scale corruption or serious human rights, according to a State Department.
Therefore, according to the document, they are not allowed to enter the country.
"The United States is on the side of the Gambian government, its people and its civil society to support the transition to greater transparency, accountability and democratic governance," added US diplomacy.
The Gambia, a small English-speaking West Africa country blocked in Senegal, was headed for 22 years by Yahya Jammeh until his defeat in late 2016 against his opponent Adama Barrow.
