Vatican spokesman, Greg Burke, and his deputy, Paloma García Ovejero, resigned unexpectedly, reports the Associated Press. According to a statement from the Holy See, Pope Francis accepted the resignation Monday (31).

In a publication on Twitter, Burke, who is American, explained that his departure and that of the Spanish Ovejero will take effect as of this Tuesday (1st).
