Chosen by his members, Julius Brant had everything to become president of Vasco da Gama. But in the second round of the election, while only councilors could vote, Alexandre Campello was chosen amidst a political maneuver involving former president Eurico Miranda and his allies. The court has already ruled that a new action should be taken, but an injunction has blocked access to the polls. The blog contacted Brant, who claims to believe in a new vote in early 2019.

I've heard complaints from opponents of those in power, namely that you rarely appear in San Januario, that during the recent vote on the budget of 2019 was in Europe and did not even vote. What do you think?

Julio Brant : My trip to São Januario requires a lot of logistics and some security precautions: hostility from small groups and support from most fans. I went to the important games of the Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship and the support was shown by the fans shouting my name, a clear sign that does not want to maintain what is in the club today. My professional life requires it, and it happens from 2014, when I entered the club board.

How does your relationship with the complex club policy work?

Our board of directors attends all meetings and remains firm in order to change the Vasco. Those who talk about this attempt to deconstruct the image we represent: the threat of changing the status quo, the same old practices that led the club to today's situation.

As for elections, we remain optimistic, always respecting justice. It has its rhythm. Our technical work and conversations have been tireless and solid. The TJRJ made it clear that he understood and that certain practices of the society had to change.

Do you still believe in the 2019 elections?

Yes, we are confident. The decision should be made soon.

When do you believe?

In January. If he decided favorably, it would have to be at the beginning of the year.
