Released until 2020, Google Hangouts announced that the Mountain View giant would stop publishing it. The service will be maintained on the Chat and Meet applications – announced in March 2017.
The process will begin on April 16, 2019. As of this date, Google will encourage G Suite administrators and users to migrate old apps for new meetings and discussions, the focus being on these.
Between April and September of this year, G Suite Chat will now benefit from the features of clbadic Hangouts. Examples are integration with Gmail, online chat with external users, improved video calling and the ability to make calls with Google Voice.
Next October, Google will begin to disable traditional email clients for the old mail. or G Suite. From now on, the search giant will provide new details.
Ordinary users tend to start the transition only after G Suite users have finished. For the moment, the forecasts are for the end of 2020, but there will always be a more specific timeline for this audience.
