"Yellow July" launches an alert to hepatitis

The seventh month of the year acquires the yellow color to raise public awareness about bone cancer and viral hepatitis.
The municipality of Taubaté promotes, between July 2 and 31, the campaign "Yellow of July"For the prevention against viral hepatitis.
Among the planned activities are rapid tests, prevention guidelines, distribution of educational materials and condoms.
A total of 43 units from the primary care department are participating in the campaign, in addition to the Municipal Ambulatory of Infectology (AMI) and doctor's office. The closing of the campaign on the 31st will count on the activities at Creas (Specialized Reference Center of Social Assistance).
The balance of epidemiological surveillance of Taubaté indicates that 32 cases of hepatitis C were confirmed in the commune between January and June of this year against 50 cases in 2017. In the first half, the predominance is male (23 cases) and the form of contagion is still the badual relation (19 cases).
